What Does Your Child Get From Imagining Thing

Children’s imagination can take them anywhere. It is pretty amazing how they look at simple things and transform it to fascinating objects. This is probably the reason why their things and toys have to be colorful and artistic – to aid their hunger for creating imaginary objects and be carried away to a different world.

Even their toy box has to have unique colorful drawings and designs. It is important that their precious toys are stored in a worthy storage. But why is it important to let your child’s imagination fly? Is it a significant part of their development? What do they get out of it?

Children learn practically from doing anything and imagining things is one. Here are some of the things that your child can get while he lets his imagination flows:

  • He learns to organize his thoughts and consider how the character should act. He won’t be thinking to be someone else and do nothing. He will process his thoughts. If he imagines himself as a soldier in a war, he will set his camp first. He will probably use his toy boxes as a mound. He will assume that he went to training and was the best in his class.
  • He will be able to relate it to reality. If he embodies the character of an adult, he would imitate how adults behave. He can imitate how his parents move around and even copies certain mannerisms. He might imitate the way his father reads the paper or how his mother organizes the house.
  • It enhances your child’s creativity. He can look at simple things in a different perspective and create fascinating objects. If he thinks that his simple wooden toy boxes is a treasure chest, think of what he can come up with the rest of his things. If your child develops his creative side at an early age, just think of what he can become in the years to come. He can be creative in arts, music or literature. Your child can take any path he chooses.
  • He also learns to consider other situations. Your child’s imagination is an exaggeration of reality. This means your child will still consider other scenarios that can affect the world he created. If he imagines that there’s flood, he would do the necessary things to protect his territory.
  • Your child learns to socialize as well especially if he plays with other kids his age. His world will not be limited to the toys in his wooden toy box or your home for that matter. If he plays with his toys alone and pretend that they are his friends, he’d talk to them and play around with their responses. Although he is not actually talking to a real person, he will have an idea of how to deal with other individuals when a chance occurs.

When your child’s imagination is working he is also thinking. Although it may seem a simple child’s play, he can learn a lot from it. You might be left in awe the next time he takes his wood toy boxes out.
